TED – Technology Entertainment Design Conference

March 23, 2007

At MACUL it seemed that every time I chatted with Jane Perzyk for more than a few minutes she would start talking about TED http://www.ted.com , some big conference where they gather more than a thousand thinkers, creators, gurus and wizards from any number of fields for a 4 day conference.  It wasn’t until today that my head cleared enough that I looked for it… WOW! The best description is provided by Chris Anderson on this page http://www.ted.com/about/introduction/flash_page.cfm

The most incredible page, however, is  TEDTALKS a fantastic collection of talks by many of these people in a amazing range of topics. Some you will know, most are new (to me anyway) but they will all make you think! You can watch the videoes online, download them or download the audio to your mp3 player. (There are more than 60 at the moment!)

Warning… next time you see Jane or me for more than a few minutes, guess what you’ll hear about ; – )

Thanks, Carol, for publicizing this a little more! FYI, one can also download the videocast to an iPod..amazing vignettes ranging from a few minutes long to one that is almost 30 minutes — Nick Negroponte’s talk about the $100 laptop — almost a repeat of his NECC presentation last year! –Jane Perzyk

I discovered TED like a day before your posting by a series of hyperlinks which led me to this link on the future of the multi-touch interface. http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/65
